Frequently Asked Questions
At buh•spōk, we know reaching out for support is a brave step — and often comes with questions. Below are some of the most common ones we hear.
Therapy & Services
What kinds of therapy do you offer?
We specialize in trauma-informed therapy for adults, including EMDR, somatic approaches, and relational work. We also offer adjunct EMDR for clients already working with another therapist, as well as EMDR intensives for those seeking a focused approach.
How do I know if therapy at buh•spok is right for me?
If you’re navigating the impact of trauma, struggling with anxiety or disconnection, or simply seeking a place to feel grounded and supported, therapy here may be a good fit. We begin with a consultation to explore your goals, answer your questions, and ensure our approach feels right for you.
Do you see children, teens, or couples?
Our primary focus is individual therapy for adults. However, we can provide referrals to trusted clinicians in the community who specialize in children, teens, or couples.
What is EMDR, and how can it help?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the nervous system reprocess traumatic or overwhelming experiences. Many clients find it helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, and even performance enhancement.
Clinical Training & Supervision
Do you offer internships or supervision for new therapists?
Yes. We provide supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians in Colorado, as well as graduate-level internship placements. Our training emphasizes trauma-informed, somatic, and relational approaches.
What does supervision at buh•spok look like?
Supervision here is reflective and relational, not just administrative. We focus on ethics, nervous system awareness, case consultation, and the development of your unique clinical voice.
Community & Partnerships
What are co-location services?
Co-location means embedding therapy directly within nonprofit and community-based programs. Instead of asking clients to start over somewhere new, we bring care to the places they already trust — like domestic violence agencies or housing programs.
How can my organization partner with buh•spok?
We’d love to explore partnership. Nonprofits can reach out to discuss hosting interns or pre-licensed clinicians on-site, with full supervision and support provided by buh•spok.
Practical Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We are in-network with Medicaid and Medicare Part B, and are paneled with select private insurers. For out-of-network plans, we can provide superbills for possible reimbursement.
What are your fees?
Session fees vary depending on the service (individual therapy, EMDR intensives, adjunct therapy). Sliding scale spots may be available. We’ll review fees during your consultation so there are no surprises.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. We provide both in-person and telehealth sessions, depending on your needs and location.
Where are you located?
We’re based in Colorado, with services available in Denver Metro and surrounding communities. Some services (like intensives and adjunct EMDR) are available virtually.
