Clinical Training at buh•spok
Growing clinicians who lead with presence, integrity, and care.
At buh•spok, we’re not just teaching clinical skills—we’re cultivating a way of being with people. Our training supports emerging therapists to show up with presence that is grounded and attuned, with integrity that holds ethical complexity, and with care that is both boundaried and deeply felt.
We grow clinicians who can sit with what’s tender.
Who understand that healing doesn’t follow a script.
Who can navigate systems without losing their soul.
Who can be with trauma without rushing to fix it.
Who lead not by knowing more, but by listening better.
This is not just professional development. It’s personal, relational, and liberatory work.
Training That's Rooted, Not Rushed
At buh•spok, clinical training isn’t just a requirement to check off—it’s a relational, embodied process of becoming. Whether you’re a graduate student beginning your internship or a provisionally licensed therapist seeking supervision, we welcome you into a community that values spaciousness, systems-awareness, and deep attunement.
We believe that trauma-informed care starts with how we hold each other. That means your training will be supported, not surveilled. Supervised, not siloed. And structured to help you cultivate a practice that reflects your clinical voice—not just replicate ours.
Our Training Philosophy
We train emerging clinicians to offer care that is:
-
Trauma-informed and nervous-system aware
-
Relational and reflexive, rooted in ongoing self-inquiry
-
Socially conscious, acknowledging power, privilege, and systemic trauma
-
Ethically engaged, with space for questions, ruptures, and repair
-
Client-centered, always honoring autonomy and readiness
We believe that healing work is sacred—and that those offering it need space to be whole, human, and held, too.
Internship & Training Structure
Our training pathway is designed to support both graduate-level interns and pre-licensed therapists as they develop clinical skill, ethical grounding, and somatic presence.
Co-Located
Community-Based Services
We partner with nonprofits—including Three Birds Alliance—to provide on-site counseling. Interns and pre-licensed therapists gain real-world experience in trauma care, systems navigation, and collaboration, while clients access services in trusted community spaces. Placements are chosen with attention to organizational need, student fit, and quality supervision.
Weekly Supervision &
Reflective Practice
Trainees receive weekly individual supervision with Kedri Ladewig, LCSW, plus group consultation that centers ethics, countertransference, and nervous system awareness. Training blends case consultation, documentation support, and systems thinking with an embodied, relational approach to care.
Practice Building
Support
Beyond clinical training, we guide trainees in the business side of therapy—documentation, scheduling, fee setting, boundaries, and private practice foundations. Practice-building is approached as trauma-informed care in action: ethical, sustainable, and aligned with your values.
