Welcome-
I am so glad you found your way here.

Feeling stretched thin, disconnected, or wondering if there’s more to life than just holding it all together? Maybe old patterns keep circling back, or the weight of trauma is still present in ways words can’t quite capture. Whatever brings you here, know this: you don’t have to untangle it all alone.

Therapy with me is about creating steady, compassionate space to reconnect — with your body’s rhythm, your mind’s clarity, and your spirit’s quiet longing to feel whole again.

Austin Essique, LPCC

A Bit About Me

I was drawn to this work because I’ve seen how easily people lose themselves when life asks too much for too long. I believe therapy is not about fixing what’s “broken,” but about remembering your strength, your voice, and your capacity to heal.

Clients often tell me they feel at ease in our work together — not because everything feels light, but because they don’t have to carry it by themselves anymore. I hold space with steadiness and respect, always attuned to your pace.

My Approach to Healing

We begin by listening to what your body already knows:

  • Breath slowing

  • Nervous system softening

  • Safety becoming something felt, not forced

From there, we move gently inward — exploring emotions tucked away, the roles you’ve carried, and the stories that have shaped you. I bring structure and strategy when it’s needed, and space for curiosity when it’s not. Healing here isn’t rushed. It’s practiced and purposeful, unfolding at a pace that honors you.

I integrate evidence-based approaches with a relational, client-centered style, drawing from:

  • Trauma-informed practices

  • Somatic and mindfulness-based approaches

  • Attachment-focused work

  • EMDR and other evidence-based tools (as trained/appropriate)

Together, we can begin to shift from survival into something more — connection, meaning, and a sense of being at home in yourself.

Areas of Focus

  • Trauma recovery and integration

  • Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress

  • Relational wounds and attachment concerns

  • Identity exploration and life transitions

  • Overwhelm, burnout, and disconnection

  • Spiritual questioning and meaning-making

Professional Background

  • Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) – Colorado

  • Trained in trauma-informed, somatic, and evidence-based therapies

  • Experience supporting clients through identity exploration, relational trauma, and nervous system regulation

Final Thought

You don’t need perfect words or a script to begin. You only need enough willingness to take the first step. I’ll meet you there — with clarity, care, and an open seat at the table.
